Through this visit, the delegation gained a thorough understanding of CASCO, highly recognized and appreciated the comprehensive strength of the company, and expressed the hope that CASCO would seize the opportunity to actively participate in the development and construction of Bangladesh’s railway, and contribute to the improvement of the technical level of local rail transit to promote the long-lasting progress and rapid development of Bangladesh’s railway and rail transit industry.

The Padma Bridge Rail Link Project jointly built by China and Bangladesh is an important part of “The Belt and Road” and the “China-Bangladesh-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor”. With a total length of 168.6km and a maximum design speed of 120km/h, it starts from Dhaka and ends at Jashore via the Padma Bridge. After the completion, 21 districts in the south will be closely connected with the capital Dhaka, so that the economic development along the line will be driven.

The project is fully constructed by China Railway Engineering Group, and CASCO is responsible for the communication and signaling as the EPC contractor. At present, the engineering design and most of the communication pipeline pre-burial work of the first section (Mawa-Bhangar) have been completed, and steady advancement continues towards the opening of the line.
