On November 24, with the successful maiden flight of the first low-altitude logistics route in Jing'an District, Shanghai, the low-altitude intelligent management and control service platform jointly built by CASCO and Shibei High-tech Park officially commenced trial operation. This platform, relying on CRSC's ID-Space system, covers an operation airspace of approximately 4 square kilometers, with multiple designated routes for logistics and inspection. It provides services such as airspace management and control, route planning, flight monitoring, low-altitude logistics, and low-altitude inspection, and has entered a phase of normalized operation, playing a pioneering and exemplary role in accelerating the implementation of low-altitude application scenarios.
Platform interface
At 10:00 a.m. on the same day, upon receiving the flight mission from the low-altitude intelligent management and control service platform, a multi-rotor drone loaded with a cargo box took off from Shibei Zhihui Park, flew via Jiangchang Third Road and Jiangchang West Road, and landed at Shibei One Center, successfully completing the first cargo transportation mission. This flight, which was approved by relevant departments, was conducted at an altitude below 120 meters and covered a total route length of 7.2 kilometers, connecting multiple office building clusters. It supports the transportation of goods weighing up to 30 kg and can deliver them in as fast as 10 minutes, making it more flexible and efficient than traditional logistics. As the management entity for this route, CASCO will continue to develop more application scenarios with Shibei High-tech Park and serve more enterprises in the park through shared airspace and routes.
Loading and takeoff of low-altitude logistics drone
Subsequently, the platform operated drones to conduct inspections over the buildings and rivers of Shibei High-tech Park and the surrounding Zoumatang and Pengyuepu areas. These low-altitude inspection applications not only reduce the cost of manual inspections but also enable timely detection of abnormalities through image recognition, data analysis, and other means, improving the speed of response and decision-making. In the future, the platform will further extend this service to government affairs, police, firefighting, and other fields, contributing to the upgrade of urban governance models.
Drone takeoff and inspection
Not long ago, Shanghai released the "Action Plan for High-Quality Development of Shanghai's Low-Altitude Economic Industry (2024-2027)", which clearly proposes to establish low-altitude flight routes serving various application scenarios and enhance low-altitude airspace management and air traffic service. In response, CASCO will actively take actions, and leverage the construction of low-altitude intelligent management and control service platform to help Shanghai build an internationally influential "City in the Sky".
