The 2025 6th Suburban Railway Development Conference was recently held in Shanghai. It was co-hosted by the Intercity and Suburban Railway Branch of China Association of Local Railways, the Suburban Railway Branch of Shanghai Transportation Industry Association, the Rail Transit Engineering Branch of China Railway Society, and China Railway Shanghai Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. CASCO, as the organizer, was deeply engaged to explore new experiences, ideas, and futures for high-quality suburban railway development, together with industry peers.

The conference attracted experts and scholars from industry associations, universities, and enterprises across the industrial chain. Over a dozen technical experts delivered keynote speeches covering policy interpretations, industry development status, green-smart integration, "four-network integration", and integrated operations. CASCO Chief Expert Chen Liang presented on " Exploration of New Technologies in Multi-Feature Signaling Systems for Suburban Railways", sharing CASCO’s tailored solutions for suburban railway signaling system.

Chen highlighted that suburban railways, as an emerging new business in the context of "four-network integration", serve as critical links between different rail transit modes. This necessitates customized signaling systems with "integrated, efficient, and resilient" features. Through technical discussions and case studies, he introduced CASCO’s flexible suburban railway signaling solutions, including Shanghai Airport Link Line (CTCS2+ATO+ATB), Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway (CTCS2+ATO), and Shenzhen International Airport-Dayawan Intercity Railway/Dapeng Branch Line (CBTC cross-system integration), underscoring CASCO’s leadership in suburban signaling.

Leveraging its technical expertise and project experience, CASCO has led major initiatives such as the National Railway Administration’s "Research on Suburban Railway Signaling Systems for Four-Network Integration" and the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission’s “R&D and Application of Suburban Railway Signaling Systems. These innovations have been applied to key projects in the Yangtze River Delta and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, driving technological upgrades and the "four-network integration" integrated transport network.

As suburban railways enter a new phase of rapid development, CASCO will remain committed to advancing signaling technology research. By collaborating with industry partners, it aims to deliver forward-looking solutions, shape the future of "four-network integration", and create more efficient, safe, and comfortable travel experiences.
