On the morning of August 17th 2015, Harbin-Qiqihar Passenger Dedicated Line with designed speed of 250km/h at China’s highest latitude departs from Harbin, marking the official start of operation. The line is adaptable to severe cold of -40℃ and CASCO has been participating in the project.

As the key project in China’s 12th Five-year Plan, Haqi PDL is the first intercity PDL in Heilongjiang Province which is at China’s highest latitude. Moreover, it is the first high-speed railway with the whole line in the alpine region in the world. The newly built main line is 280km and it plans to run 28 motor train units to transport nearly 8 million people a year.

CASCO provided its iLOCK computer-based interlocking system based on NISAL patented technology and superior CTC system to safeguard Haqi PDL. 

Haqi PDL is one of the projects with tightest schedule that CASCO ever did as it’s less than 7 months from having the signaling system construction condition to its commission. Besides, the whole line is located in Heilongjiang, the northernmost province in China, bringing severe conditions to the stations along as the winter came earlier than other places. CASCO project team made continuous efforts on the frontline under severe cold of -30℃ and worked overtime against various difficulties to ensure on-time delivery. CASCO’s highly stable, reliable and mature signaling system also cut the time of repeated revising and testing, providing sound technology support for the project.

On August 17th, Haqi PDL was successfully commissioned and connected with Hada High-speed Railway and Hamu PDL, becoming an important expressway in Heilongjiang. CASCO project team also won respect and trust from client for its professionalism and toughness and made due contribution to relieving passenger traffic pressure in Heilongjiang.
