CASCO’s Independent Signaling System Goes Abroad for Ethiopia LRT

On the afternoon of September 20 (Beijing time), Ethiopia Addis Ababa Light Rail Transit (Phase I) was officially commenced, convoyed by CASCO’s signaling system with independent intellectual property rights.

 

 

Addis Ababa LRT is the first city light rail transit in Ethiopia even East Africa as well as the first rail transit project in Africa undertaken by Chinese company. It is 31.048km long, and has 41 70% low floor vehicles, 2 depots and 1 operation control center.

 

 

 

Addis Ababa LRT project applies CASCO’s 100% independent TRANAVI rail transit signaling system solution (formerly called iCMTC and renamed in August 2015), which has realized the breakthrough of export from subsystem to a turnkey solution and becomes the first independent signaling solution that goes abroad in China.

 

This year, China has put forward “One Belt and One Road” strategy and “Made in China 2025” industry upgrade plan, aiming to further accelerate the technology upgrade and business transformation in basic industry and manufacturing industry, and promote the export of high-end technology equipment and international cooperation of capacity.  On the guide of “One Belt and One Road” strategy, CASCO will continue to expand overseas business and speed up the export of independent technology.
