On December 3, 2019, CRSC Deputy Party Committee Secretary and General Manager Xu Zongxiang and his delegation came to CASCO for inspection and guidance, visited Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Driverless Train Control of Urban Guided Transport built by CASCO and various system labs and testing centers, and listened to the detailed report on CASCO’s history, organization structure, business development and operating conditions made by CASCO Interim Party Committee Secretary, Vice Chairman and President Yang Haidong.

Xu Zongxiang said that he is very pleased to see that CASCO as the first joint venture in railway has maintained rapid and steady growth for years. He spoke highly of CASCO’s thinking on business development and its rigorous approach to projects, and expressed his hope that CASCO would continue to stay true to its original aspiration, maintain high morale, and grow into a benchmark in the industry.

At the symposium, Xu Zongxiang put forward several requirements for CASCO’s development. First, the Company should focus on and lead the market, make use of its own advantages to expand overseas markets and build itself into an enterprise with global competitiveness. Second, the Company should attach great importance to scientific research and innovation, align with the world’s advanced level, continue to increase investment in technology and improve its independent R&D capacity to truly achieve innovation-led development. It should make efforts to train the R&D team and pay special attention to the cultivation of high-end talents and the incentive of technical personnel. Third, the Company should break new ground, think about new growth points and prepare for the future, as sustainable development is inseparable from the injection of new business and related extension business. Fourth, the Company should ensure quality and safety, and learn profound lessons from history. On the basis of establishing a complete system, it should pay more attention to the implementation of every link and allow no negligence. Quality safety should be emphasized every year, every day and every hour, making it the most profound DNA flowing in the blood. Finally, Xu Zongxiang stressed that the Company should actively correct problems found in the inspection, which is a good process of learning and improvement. Meanwhile, the joint venture should give full play to the guiding role of the Party organization, strengthen Party building, pay close attention to the construction of Party conduct and clean government, adhere to the system of one position with two duties, strengthen the awareness of combating corruption and upholding integrity, and stick to the principles.

Yang Haidong on behalf of the group thanked Xu Zongxiang for his affirmation and guidance and stated that CASCO, guided by the strategic direction of CRSC, will actively implement relevant requirements, continue to improve work in all aspects, promote its healthy and sustainable development, and strive to make greater contributions to CRSC.

The inspection was also attended by CRSC Chief Accountant Hu Shaofeng, Board Secretary Qiu Wei, the office and other leaders.
