On the morning of November 10, as trains of red and white left the Nantong Pingdong Depot one after another, the first phase of Nantong Urban Rail Transit Line 1 officially went into operation with CASCO’s participation, ushering in the "metro era" of Nantong.

Nantong Line 1 (Phase I) is 39.182km long with 28 stations, running along the north-south development axis of Nantong and passing through Tongzhou District and Chongchuan District. It is expected that Line 1 will interchange with Line 2 which CASCO also participated in, forming the basic skeleton of urban rail transit in Nantong.
The first phase of Nantong Metro Line 1 is equipped with CASCO’s CBTC signaling system. It is the key core technology to ensure train operation and train command as it features outstanding performance in safety, reliability and flexibility, and also has many advantages such as improving operation efficiency, optimizing manpower allocation and reducing operation cost. CASCO's CBTC signaling system is technically mature and widely used, covering nearly 100 metro lines in 28 cities across the country. With the successful delivery of the first phase of Nantong Metro Line 1, the system has been applied in a total metro line mileage of 2,400 km, making the operation mileage and market share rank first in the industry.
Thanks to the cooperation between CASCO and Nantong Rail Transit, the first phase of Nantong Metro Line 1 is also equipped with network intelligent O&M system, which provides a "smart brain" for efficient operation, smart management and coordinated maintenance of the line, and reliable guarantee for safety and O&M management.

As the first metro line in Nantong, the first phase of Line 1 is of great significance to the standard construction and experience accumulation of local urban rail transit. To this end, CASCO made in-depth communication with clients and construction contractors in the early stage, constantly refined technical solutions, and formulated relevant operating process specifications, so as to build a benchmark project. During the construction period, the team members overcame the difficulties of tight schedule under the influence of the epidemic, and pushed forward the work of equipment installation, train commissioning and trial operation. Especially in the 100-day speed-up and completion guarantee stages, they worked overtime to advance the construction, completed the delivery on schedule with high quality, fulfilled the promise of "fully protected and fully assured" with outstanding performance, and won high recognition from clients.
The test and commissioning
With the successful completion of the first phase of Line 1, Nantong’s urban rail transit construction has also ushered in a new era of rapid development. At present, CASCO is speeding up the implementation progress of the first phase of Line 2, which will help Nantong form a rail transit network and create a far-reaching rail traffic layout to further improve the quality of urban public transportation services.
