On August 9, 2014, CASCO officially launched its GoA4 Fully Automatic Unmanned Driving System (hereinafter referred to as "unmanned driving") for Shanghai Metro Line 10, marking the beginning of the rapid development of unmanned metro systems in China.

A decade has passed, and today, August 9, 2024, marks the 10th anniversary of the unmanned operation of Shanghai Metro Line 10, as well as an important milestone in the decade-long evolution of unmanned metro systems in China.

Looking back on these ten years, CASCO has transformed from a pioneering explorer in the field of unmanned driving to a leading force in market performance and technological innovation. It has delivered extraordinary decade-long performance in the development of urban rail transit in China.

Unrivaled Market Share as the Leader in the Industry

The successful practice of Shanghai Metro Line 10 sparked a positive demonstration effect within the industry. From late 2020 to early 2021, CASCO leveraged its exceptional delivery capability to support the launch of GoA4 Unmanned Driving on Shanghai Metro Line 10 (Phase II), Chengdu Metro Line 9, and Shanghai Metro Lines 18 and 15, leading the first wave of concentrated openings of unmanned metro lines and accelerating the development of unmanned metro systems in China.

As of July 2024, the number of UTO lines tendered nationwide has surged to 65, with CASCO participating in 24 of them (including 11 lines in operation), achieving a market share of over 36%, and firmly securing its position as the industry leader.

Based on the existing fully automatic unmanned driving system, CASCO has continuously iterated and upgraded its products, pioneering the release of the highly autonomous and integrated Fully Automatic Operation 2.0 System that meets the diverse needs of smart metros. Furthermore, it has introduced the XiDRT Digital Urban Rail Transit Solution, leveraging two platforms for intelligent operation control and maintenance, along with a series of intelligent applications, to enhance operation safety and resilience. Through keen insights into the evolving needs of urban rail transit at different stages, CASCO actively promotes the automation, digitization, and intelligent transformation of the industry.

Meanwhile, CASCO has continually integrated advanced technologies such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication, AI, big data, and 5G with unmanned driving signaling systems, achieving breakthroughs from 0 to 1 and then to N, and consistently leading technological innovations in the urban rail sector.

• Shenzhen Metro Line 20: The world's first TACS line to carry passengers, featuring unmanned Driving + TRANAVI Qiji TACS.
• Shenzhen Metro Line 16: Realizing integrated management of operation control and decision-making through unmanned Driving + Intelligent Operation Control.
• Suzhou Metro Line 3: The first GoA2 line in China to be upgraded to GoA4 and connected with Suzhou Metro Line 11.

Additionally, CASCO took the lead to validate the feasibility of mixed operation of CBTC and TACS on Shanghai Metro Line 10, opening up new avenues for the application of multi-mode train control systems.

Innovative Models Ensuring High-Quality Project Delivery

Driven by the needs of unmanned metro construction, CASCO leveraged its early foray into the field to assume greater responsibilities. In Chengdu Metro Line 9 project, CASCO took on the pioneering role of coordinating and integrating various subsystems for fully automatic operation system, setting a precedent for signal system supplier as consistency coordinator for fully automatic operation.

To date, 18 unmanned metro lines have chosen CASCO as the consistency coordinator for fully automatic operation, a model widely recognized by the industry, and provided a more scientific and efficient approach to the construction and promotion of unmanned metro systems.
