09 Oct 2024

On the morning of September 26th, a donation ceremony was held at Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, where CASCO made a donation to China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation. The donated funds will be used for the maintenance of the straw checkerboard barriers on the top of Mogao Caves.

Zhao Linyi, Deputy Director of Dunhuang Academy, Yang Xiuqing, Chairman of China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation, Song Zhen, Secretary-general, Leng Wenjian, Chairman of CASCO’s labor union, Zhang Guobin, Chief of the Desert Control Station of Dunhuang Grottoes Monitoring Center, as well as representatives of CASCO employees attended and witnessed the donation ceremony.

As a leading enterprise in the field of China's rail transit control systems, CASCO has upheld the brand concept of "Fully Protected and Fully Assured" since its establishment in 1986, contributing remarkable efforts to the construction of national railways and subways. With participation in the construction of over 170 high-speed railways and passenger dedicated lines as well as metro lines spreading across major cities in China, CASCO safeguards every departure and arrival with advanced technology and high-quality services. Nowadays, CASCO has extended this protection to a broader field—social welfare. Since 2019, the company has been committed to land greening and environmental protection, carrying out tree planting activities for public benefit in Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, and other regions, actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility. Through this donation to the maintenance  of the straw checkerboard barriers on the top of Mogao Caves, CASCO has further extended its protection concept to the field of cultural preservation, demonstrating the company's proactive commitment to both environmental protection and cultural heritage. After the ceremony, CASCO representatives visited the Desert Control Station of Mogao Caves, and experienced the laying of straw checkerboard barriers on site. Under the guidance of professionals, they personally embedded the straw checkerboards into the sand, feeling the hardships and glory of protecting cultural heritage through practical actions. At this moment, CASCO's "practitioner spirit" was vividly interpreted.

During the exchange session, CASCO representatives were moved by the spirit of experts, scholars, and desert control workers who silently stayed on the front line of cultural relics protection, and felt their boundless love and persistent pursuit of cultural heritage. These guardians protect this precious land and cultural heritage day after day with extraordinary perseverance and wisdom. Their dedication and professional honor made CASCO representatives, who also shoulder the mission of protecting public travel safety, feel the same. This resonance not only inspired everyone to move forward but also enriched the meaning of this activity.

This public welfare trip not only deepened CASCO staff' understanding of desert control, environmental protection, and cultural preservation, but also strengthened their determination to continue to devote themselves to social welfare undertakings. In the future, we look forward to joining hands with more partners to participate in more public welfare activities. While building a powerful transportation country, we will let CASCO's public welfare go further and broader.
