On December 15, the western section (from Dongsi Shitiao Station to Dongbabei Station) of Beijing Subway Line 3 Phase I, which CASCO participated in the construction, commenced trial operation with passengers. This line includes 10 stations, among which 6 are transfer stations. It not only fills the gap in the lack of subway connections at Chaoyang Railway Station, but also further enhances the accessibility of Beijing's urban rail transit network and the convenience for traveling.
CASCO has tailored the CBTC signaling system solution for Beijing Subway Line 3 Phase I, and incorporated advanced GoA4 fully automatic operation and flexible train formation function, which is a first in China. Notably, the flexible train formation function stands out as a major technological highlight of CASCO's efforts to facilitate the transformation and upgrading of urban rail transit against the backdrop of China's "dual carbon" goals.
The flexible train formation technology was first developed by CASCO and pioneered in the "3+3" online flexible train formation pilot operation on Shanghai Subway Line 16 in 2021. On Beijing Subway Line 3, CASCO has comprehensively upgraded the technology, and successfully developed the fully automatic online coupling and uncoupling suitable for driverless mode. This technology can precisely respond to changes in passenger flow, optimize transport capacity allocation, and significantly improve operation efficiency. With its high innovation, stability, and efficiency, it has won the "China Patent Silver Award", leading innovative breakthroughs in urban rail transit transportation organization technology.
As project construction continues to progress, CASCO will further promote interconnectivity between Beijing Subway Line 3 and Line 12, contributing to a new level of overall efficiency for Beijing subway network.
