On December 17, the key research project of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, "Development and Application of Suburban Railway Signaling System", submitted by CASCO, successfully passed the acceptance review. The review meeting was organized by the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, with renowned experts from client organizations, suburban railway associations, design institutes, and universities participating in the review.

At the meeting, CASCO, as the lead unit of the project, presented the acceptance report jointly with five participating units: Shanghai Suburban Railway Operation Co., Ltd., China Railway Shanghai Design Group Co., Ltd., China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., Ltd., CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., and Tongji University. The expert group carefully reviewed the report materials, listened to the acceptance presentation, and observed the function demonstration of suburban signaling system at CASCO's Urban Rail System Integration Laboratory, including integrated dispatching, dual-mode onboard system, dual-mode ground integrated train control system, and related application scenarios. They conducted in-depth discussions on key technologies, highly recognized the research and unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance review.

"Development and Application of Suburban Railway Signaling System" is one of the key research projects of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission submitted by CASCO in 2022. The research covers multimodal suburban signaling systems, standardization of interfaces between suburban vehicle and signaling, wired and wireless transmission, laboratory platform construction, and the application of new technologies in suburban railway in the future. During the research period, some of CASCO's research achievements have been incorporated into industry standards, and it has edited the suburban CBTC standard for the National Railway Administration. The relevant achievements have been successfully applied to multiple projects, including Shanghai Suburban Railway Airport Link, Shenzhen International Airport-Dayawan Intercity Railway, Dapeng Branch of Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway, and Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway.

In the future, CASCO will continue to focus on the national strategy of building a powerful transportation nation, actively respond to the development trend of four-network integration, deepen the research and innovation of suburban railway signaling system according to users’ needs, continuously optimize solutions, and provide users with more efficient, intelligent, and eco-friendly transportation services. It will contribute to the high-quality development of suburban railways and the improvement of the modern integrated transportation system.
