Recently, CASCO's application for the project "Passenger Demand-Oriented Integrated Operation and Organization Optimization of Four Transit Networks" has been successfully approved as a key supported project under the Joint Fund for Innovative Railway Development of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Approval Number: U2469201). With Beijing Jiaotong University as the lead institution, CASCO and Shanghai Suburban Railway Operation Co., Ltd. serve as core participating units in conducting joint research.

The Joint Fund for Innovative Railway Development of the National Natural Science Foundation is jointly established by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Railway Administration, and China Energy Investment Corporation Limited. It aims to leverage the guiding role of the National Natural Science Foundation, attract and mobilize the strengths of research institutions at universities and colleges across the country, and focus on conducting fundamental, frontier, and exploratory research in areas such as railway construction, equipment manufacturing, transportation service, safety assurance, and green intelligence, thereby promoting the integrated development of railway technology and basic sciences and enhancing independent innovation capabilities.

Addressing the development trend and urgent needs of the "integration of four transit networks", this project aims to effectively integrate the transport capacity resources of different rail transit systems, achieve integrated operation and organization of the "four transit networks," and improve the operation efficiency and service quality of the transportation network by studying the interoperability mechanisms of integrated networks, optimizing methods for network capacity, comprehensive hub distribution capacity, and efficient passenger transportation organization adapted to passenger demand.

In recent years, with the vigorous development of suburban railways and the in-depth implementation of the "integration of four transit networks" strategy, CASCO has actively promoted the research and application of related products. The company has successfully launched the suburban train control system (STCS) with flexibly configurable signal modes and promoted its application in multiple projects such as Shanghai Suburban Railway Airport Link Line, Shenzhen International Airport-Dayawan Intercity Railway, Dapeng Branch of Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway, and Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway. Meanwhile, CASCO has also taken the lead in applying for major projects from the National Railway Administration titled "Research on Signaling Systems for Suburban (Commuter) Railways Based on the 'Integration of Four Transit Networks'" and key projects from the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission titled "Research and Application of Signaling Systems for Suburban Railways", continuously exploring cutting-edge technologies.

The successful approval of this National Natural Science Foundation project not only fully demonstrates CASCO's forward-looking layout in the field of "integration of four transit networks" but also reflects CASCO's scientific research innovation and comprehensive strength in this field. By further deepening related technological research, CASCO will provide strong momentum for building a three-dimensional and multi-layered transportation network represented by rail transit.
