On December 29, with the official opening of Zhengzhou Metro Line 8 Phase I and Line 7 Phase I, CASCO successfully delivered all nine CBTC lines it participated in Zhengzhou, with a cumulative construction mileage exceeding 310 kilometers. This has helped Zhengzhou's total urban rail transit mileage rise to 450 kilometers, propelling it into the top 10 cities nationwide in terms of operation mileage.
Fully Automatic Operation Empowers Efficient Operation of the "King of Transfers"
Line 8 Phase I is a major east-west trunk line across Zhengzhou downtown, spanning 51.78 kilometers, making it the longest line approved for construction in Zhengzhou Metro. It features 28 stations, including 9 interchange stations, earning it the title of "King of Transfers".
This line is the third UTO line that CASCO has participated in construction in Zhengzhou, following ZhengZhou-XuChang Urban Railway and Zhengzhou Metro Line 10. In addition to driverless operation, CASCO has also enabled intelligent depot and intelligent maintenance functions for this line, effectively improving operation efficiency, reducing equipment safety hazards, and lowering maintenance costs. With the support of these advanced technologies, compared to conventional lines, Line 8 Phase I has achieved a 50% increase in entry/exit interval at depots, a 10% reduction in turnback interval, a wake-up success rate exceeding 99.99%, a failure rate reduced from 1 per 10,000 kilometers to less than 0.5 per 10,000 kilometers, and an average travel speed increase of 3 km/h.
Innovative Testing and Commissioning Plan Makes Successful Deliver
Line 7 Phase I is a north-south line within the main urban area and the final project in Zhengzhou Metro's planning Phase 3. The line spans approximately 26.8 kilometers and features 20 stations. CASCO has tailored a CBTC signaling system solution for this project, with intelligent maintenance function.
During the testing and commissioning phase of the project, CASCO faced unique challenges. Due to relatively delayed progress in the middle section of the line, while the southern and northern sections had superior train operation conditions, CASCO creatively proposed an "eight-shaped signaling backbone network architecture" solution to promptly commence the testing and commissioning. This solution adopts a "segmented areas, shared control center" strategy, where the southern section's signaling backbone network connects to the Zhengzhou Metro Operation Control Center via the interchange station Shieryuan on Line 7 and Line 5, and the northern section connects via the interchange station Zhangjiacun on Line 7 and Line 4. This innovative approach breaks through the conventional backbone network structure, circumvents construction bottlenecks, and creates conditions for signaling system testing ahead of schedule, laying a solid foundation for the project's timely opening.
While successfully delivering the project, CASCO continues to inject technological vitality into the upgrade of Zhengzhou's urban rail transit network through its collaboration with the Henan High Dependable Intelligent Urban Rail Engineering Research Center. Advanced intelligent urban rail technologies, represented by driverless operation, intelligent dispatching, intelligent depots, intelligent stations, and intelligent maintenance, as well as research achievements such as domestic cryptography and "5G+CBTC rail transit signaling systems," have been implemented in multiple Zhengzhou Metro projects. These innovative technologies not only enhance the operation efficiency and service of Zhengzhou Metro, but also contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of Zhengzhou as a national central city in the field of rail transit.
