Recently, the General Office of the National Railway Administration officially announced the 2025 research project plan. The project "Research on Key Technologies for Train Perception and Collision Avoidance System Based on Collaborative Onboard-Wayside Detection and Extended Visual Range Detection", jointly submitted by CASCO, Pingmei Shenma Group’s Railway Transportation Department, and Xi’an Jiaotong University, has been selected. This marks CASCO’s recognition by industry authorities for its R&D capabilities in railway technical equipment.
This project focuses on the important deployment proposed by the Ministry of Transport: "deepening collaborative governance of safety along railways, strengthening local railway supervision, and enhancing emergency response coordination". It targets pain points in the railway industry, such as intelligent perception of major disaster risks, proactive identification of potential risks, and collaborative governance of railway safety environments. The project conducts in-depth research on extended visual range detection and train control collision avoidance technologies, aiming to develop a full-chain solution covering "technology-product-standard" through industry-university-research collaboration, thereby solidifying railway safety with high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.
The research outcomes of this project will break through existing technical bottlenecks in railway safety, and significantly enhance the safety and intelligence of railway transportation while ensuring stable operation. Additionally, the technical standard system formed by the project will provide an important reference for the standard development in this field, thus promoting the application of related products and equipment.
For decades, CASCO has consistently adhered to innovation-driven development, continuously increased R&D investment and achieved repeated technological breakthroughs in the rail transit sector. With this National Railway Administration special project, CASCO will further deepen its presence in the intelligent rail transit field, sustaining its contribution to safe, efficient, and resilient rail operation through cutting-edge technologies.
