At 10 o’clock sharp on August 19th 2016, Zhengzhou Line 2 (Phase I) officially went into passenger-carrying trail operation. The Municipal Party Secretary Ma Yi and other leaders attended the opening ceremony.
As CASCO’s first metro project in the Central Plain, Zhengzhou Line 2 of 20.649 km long stretches from Liuzhuang Station in the north to South Fourth Ring Station in the south. It will carry 58% of ground traffic along the line and greatly ease traffic pressure.
It is worth mentioning that Zhengzhou Line 2 successfully completed dynamic testing and validation of CBTC based on LTE-M multiple-service communication technology. It is the first time in China to do testing with official LTE and CBTC equipment and Zhengzhou Line 2 thus becomes the first line equipped with CBTC based on LTE-M multiple-service communication when commissioned. It has laid foundation for the application of LTE-M technology in rail transit signaling system, and the automatic and undisturbed switch between LTE and WiFi of CBTC signaling is of great application value in old line renovation and extension line implementation which may have two different communication networks.
