As the leading company in China rail transit signaling industry, as well as the backbone in Shanghai technical innovation, CASCO achieved fruitful results in innovation projects and succeeded in winning five awards in 2016 Shanghai Software Top Four Categories. It was re-elected as 2016 Shanghai Star Software Company (Business) for the outstanding product performance and innovative capability and ranked first for the first time. CASCO was also honored as 2016 Shanghai Star Software Company (Innovation) for steady increase in the number of software copyrights. Besides, its three core software products were awarded 2016 Shanghai Outstanding Software, i.e. GM software in safety software platform, ADV software in train control center and DMI software in iCMTC (renamed as TRANAVI) human-computer interactive device.

In the 8th Shanghai software innovation forum as well as the awarding ceremony, Sun Junfeng, CASCO’s president assistant attended and gave a speech on behalf of 242 software star companies in Shanghai.

Shanghai software Top 4 selection held by Shanghai Software Industry Association is the most authoritative innovation award selection, which aims to promote software innovation and its fruits. The selection this year has won much attention and support from Shanghai government and society. After strict screening, 57 star software companies (business), 99 star software companies (innovation), 10 outstanding software entrepreneurs and 114 outstanding software products were selected. 

This year is the 30^th anniversary of CASCO’s foundation. As the first Sino-foreign joint venture in China railway industry, CASCO has been upholding the core concept of “import, digest and innovation” from the start and dedicated to technology localization and innovation of intellectual property rights. Every year, CASCO invest no less than 8%-10% of annual revenue into R&D. Up to the end of October 2016, CASCO has 294 applied patents,  151 authorized patents, including 81 invention patents and 1 American patent), 176 authorized software copyrights and 139 registered software products.

At present, Shanghai Line 10, 12, 13 and 16 with CASCO’s localized Urbalis 888 signaling system onboard connects downtown and sectors like Pudong, Yangpu, Putuo, Minhang and carry millions of daily passenger flow. Moreover, Shanghai Line 17 utilizes CASCO’s TRANAVI signaling solution which is self-developed by CASCO and has 100% intellectual property rights, and is expected to become the rapid commuter line in the west of Shanghai after commissioning in 2018.
