On the morning of December 15^th 2016, CASCO Signal Ltd. signed strategic cooperation agreement with Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and launched Rail Transit Engineering Research Center as well as Joint Postgraduate Training Base in the Xipu campus. CASCO’s president Yang Haidong and Vice President of SWJTU Zhu Jianmei attended the signing ceremony and gave speeches respectively.

Vice President Zhu, on behalf of the university, firstly expressed warm welcome to CASCO’s leaders and experts and heartfelt congratulations to the foundation of Rail Transit Engineering Research Center and Joint Postgraduate Training Base. She introduced the history and status quo of the university, its 120^th-year anniversary and research achievement in rail transit over these years.  She said that the establishment of Research Center and Joint Postgraduate Training Base gave full play to SWJTU’s advantage in scientific research and talent cultivation and CASCO’s edge in technical R&D and industry application, which provided unprecedented opportunity to mutual development in rail transit. She hoped that both parties would cooperate closely and build the research center and training base into university-enterprise cooperation model and serve regional economic development and rail transit industry base construction together with support of talent, achievement transition and policy from the university.

President Yang expressed thanks to the university’s support and gave congratulations to its 120^th anniversary. He introduced CASCO’s condition and development prospect of Chengdu as CASCO’s southwest headquarter. He said that CASCO is a signaling company doing railway and rail transit business with complete product line. With rapidly expanding company scale and increasing product series, CASCO has to carry out in-depth research of rail transit technologies. SWJTU boasts large amount of innovative research fruits in rail transit and has cultivated many outstanding talents. By mutual cooperation, strong alliance and complementary advantages can be realized. On the other hand, CASCO is closely connected with SWJTU. Many graduates have become technology and management backbones in CASCO and made important contributions to CASCO’s development. CASCO attached great importance to the strategic cooperation with SWJTU and will ensure the capital and manpower input in research center and postgraduate training base to set up industry-university-research positive circle by various cooperation methods such as innovative research, technology transfer, technical cooperation and talent cultivation.

Later President Yang and Vice President Zhu signed the agreement on behalf of CASCO and SWJTU respectively and unveiled the research center and postgraduate training base.

The signing ceremony was hosted by Feng Junhuan, Party Secretary of Information Science and Technology College, and attended by Zhou Nan, Deputy Director of International Cooperation, Shi Lei, Associate Dean of postgraduate school, Zhang Jun, Associate Dean of Scientific and Technological Development Research Institute, Dong Yanyun, Deputy Director of Asset and Lab Management, Guo Jin, Associate Dean of Information Science and Technology College, Dai Ji and Ma Qiong, Deputy Party Secretary, Wang Xiaomin and Zou Xihua, Assistant to the Dean and teacher and student representatives, as well as Jiang Jianhua, Technical Vice President, Zhang Yi, Marketing Vice President, Zheng Hong, HR Director, Tu Chao, Science and Technology Management Director, Sun Tonghai, Rail Transit Marketing Director and Wang Gang, Product Planning Manager.

After the ceremony, CASCO’s leaders visited labs in SWJTU and had deep exchange on scientific and research cooperation of research center.
