On December 28^th, the CBTC system provided by CASCO Signal was commissioned on Wuhan Line 6. It is the first metro line using 4G LTE technology that went into passenger-carrying operation in China as well as in the world, marking that CASCO as the pioneer in China rail transit signaling ranks forefront in the world for the first time by self-independent innovation after years of technology and project experience accumulation in the process of “import, digest, absorption”. CASCO has also become the first company which realized the project application of 4G LTE in CBTC system in the industry.

CASCO’s Urbalis 888 train control system in Wuhan Line 6 realized the interconnection of train-ground communication between different company’s devices based on the LTE-M standard of China Association of Metros for the first time. The LTE onboard mobile terminal developed by CASCO not only enhances the redundancy of LTE train-ground wireless network, but is also compatible with China’s common WIFI communication system, which could realize smooth transition from WIFI to LTE in existing projects and extended lines.

Meanwhile, Wuhan Line 6 also utilized dedicated band (1.8GHz) on passenger-carrying line for the first time which was applied by China Association of Metros for CBTC train-ground communication. It could effectively avoid wireless interference by civil band and improve the uniqueness and interference of communication network in train control system, which makes the signal transmission faster, more stable and efficient.

Wuhan Line 6 across Han River is 35.95km long, which is the longest metro line in Wuhan. In the future, it can transfer with 11 metro lines. As a large-capacity line, it is expected to have daily passenger flow of 579,000 in 2020.
