Near the end of the year, CASCO's first rail transit project in Xi'an, Xi'an Metro Line 4, nicknamed "Tiffany Blue Line" by Xi'an citizens, was officially opened for operation with CASCO’s Urbalis888 signaling system. Among the four operating metro lines in Xi'an, Line 4 is the first intelligent line equipped with the "super intelligent brain" to realize "precise brain diagnosis and treatment", and it is also the first metro line that has adopted 4G LTE integrated bearing technology in Xi'an.

Xi'an Metro Line 4 starts from Xi'an North Railway Station in the north and reaches Hangtian New Town in the south. Stretching for around 35.2km in the south-north direction, the metro line passes two stations (Xi’an North Railway Station and Xi'an Railway Station), two world cultural heritage sites (Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Daming Palace of the Tang Dynasty), three state-level new areas (the Aerospace Industry Base, the Qujiang New District and the Economic Development Zone), and four major business circles (the Economic Development Zone Business Circle, the Lijiacun Business Circle, and the Jiefang Road Business Circle and Big Wild Goose Pagoda Business Circle). Passengers can easily exchange with Line 1, 2 and 3. Line 4 is also the only metro line in the Xi'an metro network that connects Xi'an Railway Station, Xi’an North Railway Station and the airport line. It is the core line for the seamless integration of the three major transportation hubs of "Metro, High-speed Railway and Airline".

In order to ensure the stable operation of this core line, CASCO has provided the industry-leading and reliable "intelligent brain" Urbalis888 signaling system for Xi'an Line 4. This system has been successfully applied in more than 60 lines in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other cities, and has been well received in the industry after the Olympics Games, World Expo and China International Import Expo. At the same time, in order to further ensure train operation safety, CASCO also equipped Line 4 with an advanced "precise diagnosis and treatment system"—CASCO MSS signaling maintenance and support system. This system can strengthen the management of train operation signals, and display the operation status of signaling equipment through advanced graphic and materialized technology to prevent potential hidden dangers of equipment, accurately locate the cause of signal failure, and assist staff in dealing with faults in a timely manner. It can be said that with this system, not only can the failure be effectively avoided, the train operation can be safer and more reliable, and the work efficiency of the maintenance and supervision staff can be promoted. Xi'an Line 4 is also the first intelligent metro line in the Xi'an four metro lines that is loaded with this diagnosis and treatment system.

It is also worth mentioning that the Urbalis888 signaling system provided by CASCO for Xi'an Line 4 is the first to adopt 4G LTE integrated bearing technology, which can synchronously transmit various data information including signaling, vehicle, ground, passenger and dispatching information. Although this has brought great challenges to the signaling reception, CASCO has fully utilized the leading edge in 4G LTE transmission technology, continuously optimized the testing scheme, and adopted the strategy of conducting onboard signal testing and vehicle commissioning simultaneously to ensure that the project is delivered on time (with a one-time delivery of the complete system for main line, training center and maintenance center). This is CASCO’s another successful initiative in the field of LTE communication technology following Wuhan Metro Line 6. Compared with the traditional signal transmission technology, the LTE signal transmission mode can take advantage of 4G high-speed mobile communication network, and has great advantages in anti-interference, communication quality, maintainability and scalability.

Today, the opening of Line 4 will make the total mileage of operating subways in Xi'an exceed 100 kilometers to reach 126 kilometers. At the same time, CASCO is actively preparing to build Xi'an Branch as a strategic place to develop the western business. In the future, CASCO will continue to increase its investment in Xi'an, absorb more local talents, gradually improve project design, project operation, after-sales service, marketing, etc., and more actively respond to and participate in the construction of rail transit in Xi'an. Based on Xi'an Branch, CASCO will also expand its business to the whole northwestern area in rail transit, city railway, tramway, high-speed railway and intercity railway.
