The 12th Annual City-Rail Summit 2019 was held in Beijing on January 16-17th, 2019, with the theme of "Intelligence·Innovation·Cooperation·Sustainability". Nearly 200 participants from domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions in the field of subway design, construction, equipment, operation and other related fields attended the meeting. They held in-depth discussions on the planning and prospect of rail transit under new policies, sustainable operation and innovation of urban rail transit, technological innovation, safe and green urban rail transit and other topics.
As a comprehensive integrator of rail transit control systems, CASCO was invited to attend the summit and became its partner. Cui Ke, the Chief Engineer of CASCO Research and Design Institute and Director of Shanghai UTO Engineering Research Center, gave a speech on the topic “Electromechanical System Integration of Fully Automatic Operation”.
At present, fully automatic operation (FAO) has become the development trend of rail transit industry, with advantages of high reliability, flexible operation, cost reduction and optimizing manpower allocation. Meanwhile, it also requires high integration and coordinated operation of electromechanical systems such as signaling, vehicle, integrated monitoring and communication, thus making it necessary to consider electromechanical system integration from system integration technology management and control system scheme to meet the demands of construction and operation of FAO.
Mr. Cui took the consistent and coordinated service for Chengdu Metro Line 9 as an example, and introduced the implementation of FAO system integration as well as the project management methods and implementation process adopted.
With the technical strength and rich experience in FAO, CASCO proposed the TIDAS intelligent control system that satisfies the integration linkage demands of FAO. With train dispatching as the core, it integrates subsystems such as ATS, PSCADA, BAS, FAS, PIS, PA and CCTV. Through TIDAS, the dispatching and command capability of FAO, passenger service in stations, operational reliability and security can be improved as a whole. Compared with TIAS integrating traditional interfaces, TIDAS can further improve the automation level, operation and command efficiency of the integrated system, and reduce the construction cost and complexity of implementation.
Up to now, CASCO was involved in five of the country's six FAO lines which have been in operation, and has also provided system solutions for five FAO lines under construction, among which Shanghai Metro Line 10, 15 and 18, Chengdu Metro Line 9 and Beijing Metro Line 3 have reached the highest automation level – GoA4. In the future, CASCO will continue to serve more metro lines with advanced system integration solutions and full life cycle management, comprehensively improve the integrated automation and intelligent service ability of urban rail transit, and fully protect the travelling and safety of the public, to create a reassuring experience for customers and the public for their whole journeys.
