Successive Operation of Five Railway Lines Kicks off Harvest at Year End

Near the end of the year, China’s railway network has seen a spike in railway operation. With CASCO’s multiple signaling system products, Rizhao-Qufu section of Rizhao-Lankao High-speed Railway, Wuhan-Shiyan High-speed Railway, Shangqiu-Hefei section of Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section of Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway, and Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway have been put into operation one after another, further intensifying China’s high-speed railway network of eight verticals and eight horizontals. It is also of great significance to promoting the socio-economic development of Shandong, Hubei, Henan, Anhui and other places along the lines.


As an important link in national high-speed railway network of “eight verticals and eight horizontals”, Rizhao-Lankao High-speed Railway is the railway project with the longest length, largest investment scale, most complicated construction conditions and largest population along the line ever in Shandong Province. This time, the Rizhao-Qufu section put into operation has a total length of 241km and design speed of 350km/h. Equipped with CASCO’s industry-leading FZk-CTC3.0 system with complete intellectual property rights, Yimeng, an old revolutionary base area, is connected to the national high-speed railway network, realizing the loop connection of high-speed railways in Shandong Province and greatly facilitating the transportation of residents along the line.

Wuhan-Shiyan High-speed Railway is known as “the most beautiful high-speed railway in Hubei” as it connects famous historical and cultural cities including Wuhan, Xiaogan, Suizhou, Xiangyang and Shiyan, as well as such scenic spots as Yellow Crane Tower, Hometown of Emperor Yan Shennong, Ancient Longzhong and Wudang Mountain. With a total length of 399km and design speed of 350km/h, it is a critical part of Wuhan-Xi’an High-speed Railway, and an important channel connecting central China with northwest China and the southeastern coastal areas. CASCO has provided it with 14 sets of FZk-CTC3.0 system, 1 set of CTC central system and 4 sets of iLOCK computer interlocking system.


In Central China, three high-speed railways, Shangqiu-Hefei section of Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section of Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway, and Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway, were put into operation on the same day, marking that the left-falling stroke and right-falling stroke of star-shaped high-speed railway network with Zhengzhou as the center has been completed.


Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway is listed in the National Medium and Long-term Railway Network Plan, known as “the second channel in east China”. It is an important infrastructure which alleviates the inadequate transport capacity of Beijing-Shanghai Railway, the first channel in east China, and realizes the separate passenger and cargo transport on busy trunk lines. It is also an important trunk line to effectively connect central China, the Jianghuai region and the Yangtze River Delta region. The line has a total length of 795km, of which the Shangqiu-Hefei section in operation is 378km long with design speed of 350km/h. It has ended the history of no high-speed railway in Fuyang and Bozhou, thus marking that all the 16 cities under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province are accessible by bullet trains. CASCO provided FZk-CTC3.0 system for all 13 stations in Shangqiu-Hefei section. This is also the first cross-bureau CTC3.0 line.


Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section of Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway is 389km long in total, with design speed of 350km/h and 11 stations. Its operation has ended the history of no high-speed railway from Zhengzhou to Nanyang and Pingdingshan, which is of great importance to the construction of “one-hour economic circle” from Zhengzhou to southwest Henan. When the whole line enters into service, a rapid passenger transport corridor will be formed, connecting Southwest China, Central China and North China.


Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway runs through Henan and Anhui provinces, with a total length of 276km and design speed of 350km/h. The operation of the whole line has led many small counties in Zhoukou to the era of high-speed railways, greatly shortening the distance between Zhoukou and the surrounding core cities and providing infrastructure support for poverty alleviation in towns along the line. This is of great significance to promoting regional socio-economic development and accelerating the realization of poverty alleviation goals.


CASCO provided 4 sets of CTC central system, 26 sets of CTC3.0 station subsystem and 2 sets of iLOCK computer interlocking system for Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section of Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway and Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway.


The intensive operation of these lines has greatly improved the layout of China’s high-speed railway network of “eight verticals and eight horizontals” and other regional road networks. Moreover, the simultaneous delivery of several projects has again demonstrated CASCO’s outstanding strength. Several more lines will be put into operation in the coming month. By the end of this year, China is expected to have more than 139,000km of railways in operation, including 35,000km of high-speed railways, ranking first in the world. In the face of a number of railways to be commissioned, CASCO will get ready for the mission, devote itself to national railway construction with advanced and reliable system products and full-life-cycle services, go all out to boost China’s railway industry, and contribute to the early development of China into a country of well-developed transportation.
