Under the guidance of the China Association of Metros, Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd., and Tongji University, the “2020 Symposium on Urban Rail Transit Signaling Operation, Maintenance, and Innovation under Network-Based Operations” was jointly hosted by Shanghai Metro Maintenance Co., Ltd., and Tongji University’s Urban Mass Transit magazine in Shanghai between August 20 and 21, 2020.
The symposium
It is reported that more than 30 Chinese cities will gradually gear up for network-based operations. The huge-scale construction of the rail line network will bring a real challenge to the network-based construction and operation level of urban rail transit. Therefore, industry experts from associations, metro companies, universities, and suppliers conducted detailed exchanges on the urban rail signaling operation and maintenance under network-based operations. As a guest, Wei Shengxin, CASCO’s Product Technology Manager, gave a keynote speech on “The Application and Practice of Intelligent Operation and Maintenance of Urban Rail Transit Line Network”.
Wei Shengxin, CASCO's Product Technical Manager, delivers a keynote speech
Considering the practical operation and maintenance challenges faced by Shanghai Metro, Wei Shengxin put forward three important goals for the intelligent operation and maintenance system of rail line network: flat management, intelligent maintenance, and information-based production. He introduced the overall planning, solution path, and key technologies of the intelligent operation, and maintenance system. He also shared the practical applications and performance of CASCO’s intelligent operation and maintenance system in platform-based equipment integration, intelligent fault diagnosis and positioning, equipment risk prevention and control, quantification and management of maintenance and repair as well as management of experience and knowledge.
During the operation and maintenance of the rail line network center for Shanghai's Longyang Road, CASCO addressed the client's current practical operation and maintenance pain points and issues through the intelligent network operation and maintenance system. For example, the problem of incongruous overall coordination due to separate existing maintenance systems is solved through the integration of aggregated signals and communication service system information. The intelligence level of equipment repair and maintenance as well as the quality and efficiency of maintenance is improved comprehensively through the mining and in-depth analysis of the multi-dimensional data patterns. The condition-based equipment maintenance is provided with basic support through the quantitative assessment of equipment health and quality. Maintenance quality and meticulousness is improved by utilizing mobile and intelligent video applications.
Under the trend of network-based urban rail transit operation, the intelligent operation and maintenance system will bring more scientific, intelligent, and people-oriented management schemes to the metro operation and maintenance at the rail line network level. Therefore, this system has excellent advantages in ensuring safe operation and improving operation and maintenance efficiency. CASCO will continue to develop more advanced intelligent operation and maintenance systems and innovate in technology and management schemes to meet more practical operation and maintenance requirements and contribute to the healthy and orderly development of China’s urban rail transit.
