On the early morning of June 29, the mixed operation test of TACS and CBTC was conducted in Shanghai. Leaders and experts from multiple design institutes and subway operators in the industry witnessed on site. During the test, trains equipped with TRANAVI Qiji TACS onboard systems adaptively ran in CBTC and TACS modes in different sections of Shanghai Metro Line 10, verifying the feasibility of interoperability between CBTC and TACS lines.
This achievement marks another milestone for TRANAVI Qiji, following the successful two-year commercial operation of Shenzhen Metro Line 20 and the completion of functional, performance, and backup mode verification on the pilot section of Shanghai Metro Lines 3/4. Through high-speed train testing on site, TRANAVI Qiji has demonstrated its flexible compatibility, capable of performance upgrades and functional compatibility.
It is learnt that over 80% of urban rail transit lines in China have utilized the CBTC system, with the number of existing lines operating for over 15 years continuously growing and accelerating into renovation phase. CASCO's TRANAVI Qiji TACS, as a new-generation train control system, represents the pinnacle of technological development in urban rail signaling. Compared to traditional CBTC systems, it not only excels in enhancing operational capacity, but also significantly reduces trackside equipment with its streamlined system architecture. It will reduce installation and maintenance work, downsize equipment room, and effectively lowers construction costs, making signal renovation more economical and eco-friendly.
CASCO's innovative accomplishment in achieving mixed operation between TACS and CBTC expands the application of multimodal train control system and provides a groundbreaking solution for renovation of urban rail transit signaling systems. This marks a significant milestone in promoting sustainable development of the industry.
