CRSC’s ID-Space Serves the High-quality Development of Low-Altitude Economy in Nan'an, Fujian

30 Sep 2024

On September 27, the Fujian Station of the 2024 China Aeromodelling Design Challenge and the Fujian Provincial UAV Application Scenario Innovation Conference were held in Nan'an City. This was the largest comprehensive UAV application scenario exhibition event held in Fujian Province to date. As an important part of the live demonstration at the conference, CRSC's ID-Space successfully escorted multiple types of aircraft to achieve direct control and close-range tracking of UAVs in integrated flight, marking the first time in the industry.

CRSC was invited to attend the opening ceremony, where Xu Xianliang, Chief Engineer of CASCO Industrial Innovation Incubation Center, delivered a keynote speech introducing the ID-Space. Based on the leading digital rail transit foundation, the system has built an advanced low-altitude intelligent computing center, providing AI computing power and big data support for the management and control of low-altitude flight activities. It aims to comprehensively coordinate the needs of different operating entities, aircraft, and flight services, relying on key technologies such as digital airspace, safety envelope, and speed difference layering, to construct an efficiently connected management and control system for low-altitude flight.

During the live demonstration event held at the Jiudu Aviation Flight Camp, the ID-Space successfully escorted eVTOL aircraft for manned sightseeing, multi-rotor UAV for emergency rescue, multi-rotor UAV for logistics transportation, and fixed-wing VTOL UAV for reservoir inspection. Five aircraft suitable for four different operations flew along routes of different altitude in the same airspace and achieved vertical intersections in the air, demonstrating the system's effective management and control of integrated flight for different types and application scenarios of aircraft.

Integrated flight of multiple types of aircraft

Furthermore, the ID-Space successfully achieved direct control and close-range tracking flight functions for UAVs. With strict airspace flight interval control system, it assisted UAVs in efficiently executing logistics transportation tasks. This significantly increased the flight density within the route, helping to expand low-altitude airspace capacity and support the scaled development of low-altitude flight.

UAV tracking flight

As a pioneer in the development of the low-altitude economy, Nan'an has planned and constructed three major aviation camps in Jiudu, Shijing, and Meilin, and completed the declaration of the corresponding 360-square-kilometer airspace for these camps. After the completion of the aviation camps, normalized operation will be realized to ensure the safety of low-altitude flights and regulate operational order. Meanwhile, with the assistance of ID-Space, Nan'an will gradually establish a multi-layered aviation flight system, moving towards the goal of three-dimensional flight transportation and logistics hubs. With the acceleration of the low-altitude economy, CRSC and the Nan'an Municipal Government will continue to closely cooperate, based on the jointly signed strategic cooperation agreement on the common development of the low-altitude economy industry, to solidly promote the construction of projects such as the Nan'an Urban Air Traffic Operation Center and ID-Space. Together, they will promote the landing of a batch of new business formats and the takeoff of new scenarios, jointly pursuing the dream of a "city in the sky."
