On November 8, Academician Du Yanliang of Chinese Academy of Engineering visited CASCO for research and exchange. He learned about the company's development and innovations in the rail transit, provided guidance on areas such as four-network integration and intelligent maintenance, explored potential directions for industry-academia-research cooperation between both parties, and infused new vitality into the company's high-quality and sustainable development through practical actions in implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Wang Yin, Party Secretary and Chairman of CASCO, accompanied him during the visit.
During the research and discussion session, Academician Du Yanliang listened to reports on CASCO's innovation and development, research progress on the signal system for regional (suburban) railways with four-network integration, and intelligent maintenance system. He remarked that CASCO is a "three-high" enterprise—featuring high-level technical team, high-standard innovation concepts, and high-quality innovative achievements—that holds sway in the field of rail transit signaling. The company boasts a solid foundation and strengths in national railway and urban rail signaling. He hoped that both parties could leverage respective strengths for a robust collaboration, focusing on inspection, monitoring, evaluation, prediction, maintenance, and repair in engineering, signaling, and power supply sectors through pilot research projects. By utilizing technologies such as big data, condition monitoring, health management, and intelligent diagnosis, they could promote full-chain and full-process coordination and drive innovations in rail transit maintenance. He also hoped that both parties would maintain close cooperation and share resources to jointly advance the construction of an innovation platform based on four-network integration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, jointly apply for relevant key special projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology, tackle key and bottleneck issues, and produce landmark achievements to promote coordinated regional development.
Wang Yin welcomed and thanked Academician Du Yanliang for his visit and guidance on behalf of CASCO. He noted that CASCO closely followed the needs of the country and the industry, and launched two major platforms for intelligent maintenance and intelligent control. The company is also advancing research on signal systems based on four-network integration and is committed to promoting digital transformation and intelligent upgrades in the rail transit field. CASCO has always emphasized cooperation in industry-academia-research-application and has established various joint laboratories with multiple railway bureaus and universities. It has won the first prize of the "2023 China Industry-University-Research Cooperative Innovation Achievement Award" and the special award of the "Shanghai Industry-University-Research Cooperative Excellent Project Award". among other honors. Wang Yin expressed the hope that both parties would enhance exchanges and cooperation in technology, talent, and market aspects to jointly produce more innovative achievements and contribute to the construction of a powerful transportation nation.
Before the meeting, Academician Du Yanliang visited Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Railway Intelligent Dispatching Command System, led and built by CASCO. He viewed application demonstrations of signaling system solutions for high-speed, regional, and local railways, learned about innovations in areas such as dispatching and command, new train control systems, and full-lifecycle intelligent maintenance, and witnessed demonstrations of the functions of four-network integrated "C2+CBTC" train control system. He highly praised CASCO's technical prowess and innovative achievements.
CASCO's Vice President of Products Xu Cheng, Assistant to the President Sun Junfeng, and heads of relevant departments such as the National Railway Product Center, Transportation Dispatching Product Center, Digital Intelligence Product Center, Science and Technology Management Department, and Office participated in the research and discussion session.
