Recently, the National Intellectual Property Administration announced the results of the 25th China Patent Award. CASCO’s invention patent titled "Control Method for Train Coupling within Zone Controller Based on Automatic Train Protection for Single Trains" was awarded the 25th Excellent Patent Award. This marks the seventh time that CASCO has received the national intellectual property honor, once again demonstrating the company's technological innovation strength in the rail transit industry.
This award-winning patent is a further research achievement by CASCO based on its previously awarded Silver Patent technology, "A Method for Implementing Flexible Marshalling Operation in Urban Rail Transit". It represents a major new breakthrough in flexible marshalling technology research and development. Flexible marshalling technology was first developed by CASCO and successfully piloted on Shanghai Metro Line 16 in 2021. During the construction of Beijing Metro Line 3, CASCO comprehensively upgraded this technology, achieving fully automatic online coupling and uncoupling suitable for driverless mode.
This patent adopts system analysis approach, combines fault-safe analysis theory with automatic train control technology, and proposes principles for setting up train coupling zones, management of the train coupling process based on "automatic train protection", and calculation methods for train coupling movement authorization. By providing a unified description and management of trains involved in coupling operation and coupled trains, it simplifies the control process for train coupling operation and enhances the safety and flexibility of train coupling and uncoupling.
In this evaluation, CASCO's invention patent stood out through rigorous selection, thanks to its leading technological level, significant transformation benefits, and high-quality intellectual property protection and management mechanism. It received full recognition from authoritative departments for CASCO's independent innovation and intellectual property system.
