Recently, the award ceremony for the 2025 spring semester "CASCO Cup" Programming Weekly Competition was held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University with great success. Sun Junfeng, Assistant to the President of CASCO, led a team of technical experts to present awards to winning students and delivered insightful presentations on cutting-edge industry technologies. Over 300 faculty members and students from the university gathered to witness this collaborative event between industry and academia.
Co-organized by CASCO and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the "CASCO Cup" Programming Weekly Competition aimed to foster innovation and exchange through programming, creating a platform for university-enterprise collaboration in scientific research. Spanning two semesters from October 2024 to May 2025, the competition attracted over 2,500 undergraduates, masters, and doctors across various departments.
During the event, CASCO’s technical experts served as competition advisors, offering professional guidance and integrating industry-leading technologies into the contest. Through lectures, they shared innovative applications in rail transit automatic operation, intelligent operation and maintenance, and low-altitude scenarios, broadening students’ technical horizons.
The spring semester’s competition questions skillfully combined scientific research themes, real-life scenarios, and rail transit elements, featuring a comprehensive set of problems covering mainstream algorithms and data structures. After intense competition, one grand prize, four first prizes, five second prizes, and ten third prizes were awarded. At the ceremony, student representatives shared their experiences, highlighting the event’s role in promoting learning through competition and integrating competition with education.
"Code is a mirror of the mind. Solving problems in this competition honed our rigorous thinking and self-study abilities."
—Tang Xingxun, Student Representative
"The competition provided an opportunity to enhance programming skills and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. We not only acquired new skills but also learned from peers, experiencing the joy of progress through challenges."
—Ma Rui, Student Representative
In his address, a CASCO senior executive and SJTU alumni praised the participants for their logical depth and resilience—qualities highly valued in the tech sector. He encouraged students to maintain their passion, pursue excellence in technological exploration, and become pioneers advancing scientific progress on broader stages.
This competition not only showcased the technical potential of the younger generation but also underscored the significance of university-enterprise collaboration. As an innovation leader in the rail transit sector, CASCO remains committed to deepening partnerships with academic institutions. We also invite outstanding students to join us in exploring rail transit and low-altitude economy, contributing to safer transportation and realizing aspirations.
