CASCO’s CTC Ensures a Successful Operation of Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway

15 Aug 2014

At 8:50 on July 1 2014, as two CRH2 trains set off in opposite direction from Taiyuan South Station and Xi’an North Station, Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway (from South of Taiyuan to North of Xi’an) officially went into operation. As an important part of China’s mid-long term railway network plan, Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway is 859km long, of which Taiyuan-Xi’an section is 567km, and the designed speed is 200~250km/h. It shortens the travelling time between these two cities from the previous 10 hours to 3.

Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway applies CASCO’s CTC system to 21 CTC stations and 3 dispatching stations, which connect to PDL dispatching centers of Taiyuan Bureau and Xi’an Bureau respectively. From October 2013 to June 2014, in face of severe time pressure and challenge, Taiyuan and Xi’an project teams successfully completed the installation, test and pilot run of the station and key equipment through persistent efforts and conducted corresponding renovations, laying a solid foundation for the opening of Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway.

In the interim, CASCO accomplished the task with excellent product quality, efficient project implementation and all-round service, which realized its commitment to the clients of Xi’an and Taiyuan Bureaus and won their high recognition and trust.
