At 08:40 on December 16th 2014, the first train G6409 of Changsha-Kunming Passenger Dedicated Line (PDL) pulled off Changsha South Station to Huaihua South Station, which marks the official opening of Changsha-Huaihua section of Changkun PDL and makes a high-speed train ride from Shanghai to Huaihua a reality.

As part of Hukun PDL, one of the main lines in the "four vertical and four horizontal" passenger transport network, Changkun PDL is 1175km long, of which Hunan section that went into operation this time is 416km with 9 stations and two dispatching stations in the dispatching center of Guangzhou Railway Group. CASCO provides FZk-CTC system, central server and two dispatching stations for all the 9 stations of Hunan section and centralized monitoring device for 14 stations.

Changkun CTC and centralized monitoring project began in February 2014, went on pilot run on November 18th after static and dynamic testing and system debugging, and officially went into operation on December 16th 2014.

Located in the mountainous region, Changsha and Huaihua sections suffer from inconvenient traffic with stations faraway, the way to which was often accompanied by landslide and collapse. CASCO team accomplished the task under severe natural conditions and won high appraisal from the client once again with mature and stable system and quality and efficient service.

The opening of Hunan section of Changkun PDL will shorten the time from Changsha to Huaihua from 7 hours to 1 hour and 40 minutes, which not only makes the travel around more convenient and comfortable, but also will drive a rapid economic development of the cities along the line.
